I FOUND MY WAY BACK TO MY OLD TUMBLR
THIS IS LIKE TIMETRAVEL
THIS IS LIKE TIMETRAVEL
This whole bit is made all the funnier by knowing that all of the guards were just random extras who weren’t told what was going to happen only that they weren’t allowed laugh at any cost as they wouldn’t be payed if they did.
At uni I took a screenwriting course from THIS VERY GUARD EXTRA (who went on to contribute to some of the Python stuff), who confirms this and also that Michael Palin would use different ridiculous names in every take, so they couldn’t even prepare themselves for hearing it.

Lavender Lemonade
4 tbsps (¼ cup) culinary lavender*
2 cups boiling water
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
2 cups cold water
* Culinary lavender is lavender harvested for the purposes of cooking/eating. Please don’t buy the perfumed air-freshening kind because that is going to be utterly gross. Steep the lavender in 2 cups of boiling water for 15 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and discard the lavender. Place the lavender tea and the sugar in a small saucepan and set over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves (you don’t have to put it over heat, but I do this because I’m impatient and want the sugar to dissolve faster and completely). Remove from heat and let cool to warm. Stir in the lemon juice. Stir in the cold water. Add more to taste. I prefer to keep mine on the concentrated side because I like to mix it with seltzer water when I serve it. Serve over ice. Makes about 6-8 cups depending on how dilute you want it.
My friend actually made lavender lemonade before and it’s delicious. Not sure if this is the same recipe, but stillllll
reblogging for the recipe
why the fuck else would you reblog

The Execution of Lady Jane Grey (detail), Paul Delaroche - 1833
Something about the moment Paul Delaroche chose to illustrate….really made this painting. Idk if that makes any sense.
This actually happened though. When she knelt down to put her head on the block she reached out for it but couldn’t find it and panicked, yelling out “Where is it?!”. Someone kindly guided her head and shoulders to the block.
Jane was 16-17 when she died. She was put to death for sitting on a throne she never tried to grab. Her parents and in-laws together came up with a plot to keep Catholic Mary off the throne after Edward the Protestant died. She willingly gave Mary back the throne, she never wanted to be Queen.
She was put to death after a lifetime of abuse from her parents over a plot contrived by her parents. The people who were supposed to love, guide, cherish, and take care of her. Even in her time her parents abuse of her was well known and frowned upon.
Her story is so tragic.
this is the painting that got me into loving art

Freezing Ocean Waves In Nantucket Are Rolling In As Slush
It’s so cold that the sea on the coast of Nantucket, an island on the eastern coast of the U.S., has turned into slush! Jonathan Nimerfroh, a photographer and surfer who’s “obsessed” with the ocean, snapped these beautiful shots of slushy waves rolling in to the near-frozen beach.
According to Nimerfroh, the high temperature that day had been only 19F, or -7C. It was cold enough for ice to form near the shore, but not cold enough to form solid pieces of ice, which is why the waves had to travel through a layer of slush to reach the shore. (Source)

Yacouba Sawadogo is an exceptional man – he single-handedly managed to solve a crisis that many scientists and development organizations could not. The simple old farmer’s re-forestation and soil conservation techniques are so effective they’ve helped turn the tide in the fight against the desertification of the harsh lands in northern Burkina Faso.
Over-farming, over-grazing and over population have, over the years, resulted in heavy soil erosion and drying in this landlocked West African nation. Although national and international researchers tried to fix the grave situation, it really didn’t really make much of a difference. Until Yacouba decided to take matters into his own hands in 1980.
Yacouba’s methods were so odd that his fellow farmers ridiculed him. But when his techniques successfully regenerated the forest, they were forced to sit up and take notice. Yacouba revived an ancient African farming practice called ‘zai’, which led to forest growth and increased soil quality.

i laughed so hard at the “i don’t know” and “something is wrong”
the twilight one is like abstract poetry
If you read it all together it’s like the most awkward, tense conversation ever.
“My name is Katniss Everdeen,” I sighed. Nothing happened.
“I don’t know,” he sighed.
Harry looked around, I shake my head and shrugged.
Harry stared. “I am seventeen years old.”
I frowned and he waited.
“My home is District 12.”
Harry chuckled and said nothing. Now I wish I had.
I laughed. We looked at each other. I swallowed hard. He shrugged. Harry blinked and hesitates. I flinched.
He looked around. “I’m not really surprised.”
I took a deep breath, something he didn’t have last time. “Something is wrong.”
He didn’t answer. He stood up.

BEHOLD: Fake “dom” VERSES trained empowered sub.
Know the difference!
Thanks to LH for allowing Me to post this. 😘 D.THIS IS IMPORTANT
True. Everyone needs to take note, just because you identify as a submissive, doesn’t mean that you have to follow through on everything. Stick up for yourself. If something doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t.
This is like every guy on collarme
This makes me want to kick things. People. Fake doms in the junk.
They’re not just fake doms, they’re real abusers.
